Mrs. Winski
I work with RMS students with the last name L-Z in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. I began working at Revere Middle School in 2016 as a part-time 7th grade counselor and moved to full-time the following year. Prior to joining the Revere family I worked in the city of Lorain at an inner-city charter school for three years.
Before moving back to Ohio in 2012, I earned my M.Ed. in School Counseling at Keene State College while my family and I lived in Keene, New Hampshire. During our eight years in New Hampshire I worked for Easter Seals of New Hampshire as a Case Manager providing in-home services for adolescents in foster care, returning home from residential treatment, and those court ordered to the program due to delinquency charges. My first counseling position was working with adolescents at the Phoenix Academy, a residential substance abuse facility for adolescents, as a Primary Counselor.
In 2000 I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. I returned to The Ohio State University in 2003 to complete my minor into a major and graduated the following year.
My husband, Todd, our three boys (Brennan, Keaton, and Miloh), and our rambunctious 115lb black lab (Captain) and our Golden Retriever, Queenie, live in Hudson. We stay busy rehabbing our house, being involved with our sons’ sporting activities and school work, skiing in the winter, and boating and swimming in the summer. In my spare time I find respite in working on our yard, long distance running and participating in half-marathons.
We will be going into classrooms to do counseling lessons with students on a variety of topics. Also, I offer small group counseling sessions, as well as individual counseling, and work with outside organizations to provide whole school/class assemblies. My focus is on social/emotional learning, career exploration, and academic support/counseling.
You are always welcome to stop by, even if it is to just introduce yourself! Please feel free to contact me if you or your student need anything. I am here to partner with you to help your student be successful.
